Overview
BBC Construction understands that Meridian Hall is one of Canada’s premier performing arts venues and a designated City of Toronto heritage building. This project involves the replacement of existing insulated glass units (IGUs) and all associated curtain wall components, including setting blocks, shims, fasteners, gaskets, sealants, pressure plates, and snap-on caps, while preserving the building’s architectural integrity and heritage value.
Our Approach
BBC Construction will execute the curtain wall restoration using a phased and coordinated approach that prioritizes safety, quality, and operational continuity. We will work closely with the Owner, consultants, and theatre management to schedule activities, maintain safe public access, and protect adjacent finishes and heritage elements throughout the construction process. Our experienced project team will utilize qualified glazing specialists, rigorous QA/QC procedures, and industry best practices to ensure the proper installation of all new insulated glass units and curtain wall components. Through proactive communication, detailed planning, and strict health and safety protocols, BBC Construction will deliver a high-quality, durable building envelope restoration while respecting the heritage character of Meridian Hall.
